COVID-19 policy-procedure

Our protocol is:

New and existing patients are to first complete our online Information and Medical History Form

– Please complete all the required fields (marked *).

Additionally, also especially fill in the Dental Questionnaire questions #9 & #10.

#10: We require a declaration of your risk status for COVID-19 (see below**) so we can determine what further precautions may need to be taken.

–  When completed, patients can then ring (4943 3571 Monday to Friday;  0414 469671 other times if required) to be screened via phone, whence your risk status for COVID-19 will be confirmed.

– Arrangements for a physical appointment can then be made.

– We will ask that you observe social distancing measures in the waiting room and reception areas.

– Numbers in the surgery premises need to be kept to a minimum, so where possible only the patient will enter, and only as necessary: a parent/carer/support person. This will cut down the potential for unnecessary (social) contact, protecting you and others.

– Patients will be asked to use the alcohol-based hand sanitiser provided as they enter reception and/or wash their hands with soap in the surgery handwash basin.

** Risk status for COVID-19

For the purposes of screening only, we will classify you as:

  • Confirmed case – A person with laboratory confirmation of COVID-19 infection, irrespective of clinical signs and symptoms.
  • Suspect case – a person with acute respiratory illness plus:
    • history of travel overseas or an area reporting local transmission in last 14 days, OR
    • been in close/casual contact with a confirmed case in last 14 days.
  • At risk – a person who has (only one of):
    • history of travel overseas or an area reporting local transmission in last 14 days, OR
    • an acute respiratory illness, OR
    • been in casual contact with a confirmed case in last 14 days.
  • Not at risk – does not fit any of the above.
